LESSON PLAN

LESSON PLAN : LOST IN THE TIME
Title : Lost in the time.
Aim : To practise analytical reading on the web.
Level : Intermediate
Time : 50 minutes
Technical Requirements : One computer per group 2-3 students, with Internet connection and Web browser.
Preparation : A teacher prepares the maze, Lost in The Time, and a worksheet for students.
Procedure :
1. A teacher discusses with the students about ancient history and ask them about their background knowledge.
2. Then, the teacher divides the students 2-3 people per group and explains about the instructions and the contents that they have to learn in the maze.
3. After they read an information from the maze, they have to discuss in their group.
4. The teacher discusses with the whole class again and shares an information that they learn from the maze.
5. The teacher gives some worksheet to the students. The students have to think and analyse an information together and answer the questions from the maze.
6. The students correct their answer together and draw a picture that show an information from their imagination.
Follow up : Students can read and analyse an information accurately. Moreover, they can participate in an activity enjoyably.
Notes : Web pages should evaluate before it is used with the students.

Reading Mazes

Reading Maze of visitting New Castle
1. What kinds of reading skills can be practised with Visitting New castle maze?
I think this maze can be practised Skimming-reading for main idea.
2. Can you think of any other skills that can be practised with the program?
Yes, I think we can be practised writing, speaking and listening skills with this maze because we can bring an information to create other activities. For example, we can bring an information to develop listening and writing skill by dictation.
3. Can you use any of these activities with your learners? Why or why not?
Yes, because we can learn many things from New Castle especially, the culture. So, we can use these activities from New Castle with our learners by compare the difference between the culture in New Castle and culture in Thailand.
4. What kinds of problems are likely to occur if you use the activities with your learners?
I think the problems that may be occur when we use this activities is about background knowledge of the learners. Because the learners may not know about cultural knowledge of New Castle. So, we should check an information of activities before we bring it to use with our learners.
5. What can you do to solve the problem?
I think, we should check an information of activities before we bring it to use with our learners. Moreover, we should describe an information of the activities to the learners before they start to do the activities.

I think this maze can be practised Scanning-reading for a specific information.

Yes, I think we can be practised listening and speaking skills with this program because we can apply an information to create a new activity. For example, we should bring the information to make dialogue for practising our learners.
3. Can you use any of these activities with your learners? Why or why not?
Yes, because these activities are interesting and I think the learners are interested in it.Moreover, these activities can motivate the learners to study and participate with the activities more than in the past.
4. What kinds of problems are likely to occur if you use the activities with your learners?
I think, the problems are about background knowledge and grammar structure of the learners. Sometimes the learners do not know the way of life or the culture of the people in the information because they don't have background knowledge about it. moreover, they can not understand grammar sructure that use in the activities.So, it makes the learners are bored and confused with the activities.
5. What can you do to solve the problem
I think, we should check the level of the information before we bring it to use with the learners both of grammar structure and vocabularies.It should suitable with the learners .
